This summer I photographed an intimate wedding at Langdon Hall in Cambridge, Ontario, and it reminded me why this is one of my favourite venues for smaller celebrations. Set among gardens and woodland, this historic country house feels like stepping into an old-world love story. Every corner looks like a scene from a film, and with a small guest list, the whole day felt relaxed, personal and completely luxurious.

Not every beautiful venue suits a small wedding. Some spaces are built for two hundred guests and can feel empty with twenty. Langdon Hall is the opposite. Its spaces feel made for intimacy, so a smaller wedding feels full, warm and intentional, never like something is missing.

The ceremony space is just the right size for the people who matter most, close enough that everyone can see every expression and hear every word of your vows. Afterward, the dinner area keeps that same feeling: an elegant, intimate setting where everyone is part of the same conversation. As a photographer, I love what this creates: real laughter, happy tears during the toasts and quiet glances across the table.

If you love that old country mansion feel, Langdon Hall is a dream. Ivy-covered walls, manicured gardens, winding paths and grand historic architecture mean there’s a beautiful portrait location almost everywhere we turn, and we never have to go far to find the next one. It’s romantic in the most timeless way. With a smaller wedding, we also have more time to explore together, so your portraits never feel rushed.

A smaller guest list doesn’t mean a smaller experience. At Langdon Hall, an intimate wedding still looks and feels truly high-end, from the setting to the service to the smallest details. Your photos reflect that too: editorial and timeless, never scaled down. If you’re dreaming of a small wedding with a luxurious, old-world feel, Langdon Hall is a perfect place for it.
