K+M’s magical outdoor tent wedding at Aberfoyle Mill Restaurant in Puslinch, ON was so much fun to photograph! This venue has plenty of choices for a stunning photographic setting – from the historic mill and the charming island gazebo to the graceful willow trees and the boundless greenery. The tent, adorned with its captivating strings of light, imparts a magical aura, particularly enchanting against the water’s reflection. In essence, it mirrors the picturesque allure of the rustic backyard wedding you might dream of. Also, the venue attends to all catering and guest services, ensuring the seamless execution of your celebration. I can’t wait to shoot here again soon!
K and M’s September wedding caught Aberfoyle Mill at its prettiest: the willows still full and green, goldenrod glowing along the pond, and just a hint of autumn in the trees. Tucked away in Puslinch, just south of Guelph, the Mill gives you so many beautiful settings in one place, which is exactly why I love photographing here.
Before the ceremony, they had a quiet first look on the lawn beside the water. The groom waited with his back turned, the bride tapped him on the shoulder, and the smiles that followed say it all. Then they took a few minutes under the willows to share letters and a few private words. Those private moments are some of my favourite photos from the whole day.
The ceremony was set up at the Mill’s white gazebo, with rows of white chairs along a gravel aisle and a framed mirror sign inviting guests to “pick a seat, either side.” The bridesmaids wore soft lilac, the guys wore light grey suits with lavender ties, and the bride’s bouquet mixed white and lavender roses with pops of peach and orange. Afterwards, the wedding party raised single white roses tied with lavender ribbon to make an arch for the newlyweds to walk through.
Later in the day, string lights hung over the water and the gazebo reflected in the pond. We finished their portraits in the tall goldenrod at the water’s edge, and it felt like the whole property was glowing.
