Three more days until the New Year, so I decided it’s time to catch up on my blogging and share some of this year’s work! 🙂 I’ve never gotten so behind on sharing blog posts, but this year was exceptionally busy. Not only did I take on more weddings than I ever did before, but we also moved to our first home (yay) and did some crazy renos (SO glad that reno part is over with)!
I shot C+R’s engagement this fall at Huron Natural Area and I was obsessedddd with how these turned out. So I thought I’d start my blogging craze by sharing a few from their shoot. Lotsssss more blog posts to come so stay tuned!
C and R’s engagement session was full of little touches that made it feel like them. We started with a picnic in the meadow, a white blanket spread out in the tall grass with a basket and a few treats, while the trees around the edge of the field were just starting to turn.
Next we walked into the tall pine forest, where the trail is soft with needles and the trees go on forever. C wore a camel plaid coat over a burgundy dress with a wide-brimmed hat, and R a light grey blazer, warm fall layers that looked so good against the green. There were lots of laughs, a few spins, and one of those “follow me” shots with her leading him down the path.
For the last light of the day, C changed into a deep burgundy dress and added a crown of red flowers. We went back out to the meadow as the sky turned soft and pink, and those portraits in the goldenrod are still some of my favourites.
To finish, we lined the forest path with little candles. As it got dark, the two of them stood together holding a single candle, and the glow on their faces was the perfect ending.
