Kitchener-Waterloo is home base, and I still find new photo spots here every year. As a Kitchener wedding photographer for over 10 years, I love how much variety KW gives my couples: a downtown with real character, gardens that bloom all season, quiet trails and boardwalks, and farmland just minutes away.
If you’re planning a wedding or engagement session in Kitchener-Waterloo, here are the places I love most, with real galleries so you can see how each one photographs.
The Walper Hotel is a historic boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Kitchener, and a dream for couples who love old-world character with a modern edge. Bright white rooms, tall windows, a chandelier-lit ballroom and colourful laneways right outside give you an editorial city wedding without leaving the block.

See Brittany and Kyle’s Walper Hotel wedding.
Downtown is just as good for engagement sessions. Some of my favourite spots are the graffiti art down Goudies Lane, Victoria Park, and even the top of the Duke Street parking garage at sunset. See Katie and Anthony’s downtown engagement, Jenny and Ish’s downtown engagement, L + O on the Duke Street garage and E + S’s fall engagement in Kitchener.
For an intimate city ceremony, DTK Chapel is light-filled and beautiful, and Kitchener City Hall’s Carl Zehr Square is steps away for celebrating with family and friends. See A + A’s DTK Chapel wedding.

Rockway Gardens is a hidden oasis in the middle of Kitchener. In spring it bursts into colour with tulips, magnolias, redbuds and cherry blossoms, and in winter it turns soft and snowy. Many couples get engaged here, which makes coming back for photos extra meaningful.

See V + S’s spring wedding at Rockway Gardens, K + S’s spring engagement and C + S’s winter engagement where they got engaged.
I never get tired of shooting at Huron Natural Area. Forests, boardwalks through tall grass, quiet ponds and open meadows, all with gorgeous golden-hour light. There’s a sweet spot in the park for sunset that never disappoints.

See S + F’s summer engagement, K + S’s dreamy summer session, A + J’s early summer session, H + M’s cozy fall engagement, L + M at sunset and C + R in the fall.
The historic stone tower at Waterloo Pioneers Memorial Tower Park overlooks the Grand River and fields, and it’s stunning at sunset (sparklers optional). See H + A’s sunset engagement at the tower.

Hacienda Sarria brings a little piece of Spain to Kitchener, with a courtyard, Spanish-inspired architecture and gardens. See Jenny and Ismail’s Hacienda Sarria wedding and Dolly and Edgar’s Spanish-themed wedding.

Catana Estate sits on 100 acres in Blandford-Blenheim, a short drive from Kitchener-Waterloo, with stone architecture, garden paths and views over the Nith River. I’m proud to be one of its preferred vendors. Read my Catana Estate wedding guide.
