I’m SO excited to finally share some highlights from Jenny and Ismail’s gorgeous Hacienda Sarria wedding! My favourite thing about documenting these two was that they were genuinely so ready and so excited to get married and be together foreverrrr! Just scroll down and see the look on Ismail’s face as he watched Jenny walk down the isle. He looked at her with those heart eyes ALL DAY. Yup, this was better than any Disney love story I’ve ever seen 😉
A little piece of Spain in Kitchener
Hacienda Sarria is one of the most unique wedding venues in Kitchener-Waterloo. With its Spanish-inspired architecture, courtyard and gardens, it feels like you’ve travelled somewhere far away without leaving the city, and it gives a wedding day so much character.
For Jenny and Ismail, it was the perfect fit. They wanted a day that felt joyful and full of personality, and every corner of the venue gave us something different to work with: textured walls and archways for portraits, garden greenery for softer moments, and an elegant reception space for the celebration that followed.
The details that made their day
Jenny and Ismail filled their day with things that felt like them. The florals by Just Blooms were stunning, live music by Juneyt set the mood, and instead of a traditional dessert table they had donuts from Debroniks, which their guests absolutely loved.
But my favourite part will always be the way these two looked at each other. When Jenny started down the aisle, Ismail’s face said everything. Those are the moments I live for as a photographer: real, unposed, and impossible to recreate.
Planning a Hacienda Sarria wedding
- Use the architecture. The arches and textured walls make beautiful, timeless backdrops, so I always plan a few minutes for portraits around the building.
- Save time for golden hour. The gardens glow in the evening light, and a short sunset portrait session is always worth it.
- Let the details tell the story. Venues with this much character pair beautifully with personal touches like live music and a fun dessert.
