If you’re dreaming of a garden wedding at Rockway Gardens or anywhere in Kitchener-Waterloo, I’d love to be part of your story. Let’s create something unforgettable together!
V and S’s wedding came at that perfect moment in spring when the tulips are up, the magnolias are blooming and everything feels fresh and new. Grey skies couldn’t take away from it: the soft light made the colours glow, and nobody minded carrying an umbrella or two.
They said their vows indoors, in front of a round arch dressed with blush and peach flowers and greenery against a clean white wall. The bride wore a long-sleeved lace gown, the groom a classic black tuxedo, and when they were pronounced married, the bride threw her bouquet in the air as they walked back up the aisle past their cheering guests.
Afterwards we headed to Rockway Gardens. The bridesmaids looked gorgeous in wine-red gowns and the groomsmen mixed charcoal, black and navy suits. We took portraits among the beds of red and pink tulips, on the stone paths of the rock garden, and under a magnolia tree in full bloom. One of my favourite moments was the groom lifting the bride right off her feet beside the tulips.
As the sun went down, we slipped out to an open field for a few golden-hour portraits, with the light glowing behind them. The night ended with a sparkler send-off, family and friends lining the way with sparklers in hand.
