They say rain on your wedding day is a sign of blessing. Well, Chris and Erin definitely had a lot of rain, but I think they received even more blessing! The sun came out at the perfect time and we even managed to take some sunset photos (despite my phone’s weather app showing a 100% chance of showers for the evening!).
Speaking of blessing… there was such an atmosphere of love and friendship at this wedding. Yes, the blueberry farm was gorgeous, and yes, their succulent decorations were cute- but lets talk about the bride and groom; I felt like I was photographing two best friends! The joy between them was contagious and their laughter was so genuine. Nothing makes my heart happier than knowing that I am capturing something real, something that you know will last for decades and will be looked back upon as one of the greatest days of their lives.
Thank you Chris and Erin for allowing me to be a part of what is now a beautiful memory! You two could not be more perfect for each other and I hope that the blessing continues to pour in your marriage for many many years…
Arrowwood Farm is a working blueberry farm, and it made the most charming wedding setting: rolling fields, tall grasses, gardens, a weathered barn and rows of blueberry bushes covered in ripening berries. Chris and Erin filled it with personal touches. There were succulents everywhere, from the moss-and-succulent centrepieces in wooden boxes to tiny succulents in tins and jars, plus a pig-shaped chalkboard sign, a horseshoe heart, a chalkboard seating chart and a wooden X and O game on the tables.
They said their vows on the lawn under a vine-covered pergola, with white flower pomanders hanging along the aisle. Erin carried a colourful bouquet of pink roses, orange blooms and succulents. After the ceremony we took photos in front of the barn doors with the flower girl, the ring bearer and one very cute little dog.
The rain came and went all day, and honestly it gave us some of my favourite photos. Chris and Erin shared an umbrella through the gardens, beside the old barn and across the lawn, and stopped for kisses under a willow tree and in front of a flowering hedge. Then, just when we needed it, the sun came out. We wandered into the blueberry bushes and the tall grass, and caught a sunset kiss, a piggyback ride and a twirl on the lawn.
As the evening came on, the barn glowed with string lights. Their first dance under those lights, surrounded by friends dancing, was the perfect ending.
