High school sweethearts and best friends. A few years ago I photographed their prom, the following year I captured their engagement and this past October I felt so lucky to witness their marriage. Congratulations D+B! SO happy for you both!
There’s something extra special about photographing a couple more than once. I first met D + B at their prom, then took their engagement photos the next year, and then had the honour of being there when they finally said “I do.” Watching high school sweethearts become husband and wife is something I’ll never forget.
Their October wedding at Elm Hurst Inn & Spa in Ingersoll was full of autumn colour. The bridesmaids wore deep wine-red dresses, the guys wore black suits with burgundy ties, and the bride’s bouquet of white and burgundy blooms, with long ribbons trailing down, was absolutely stunning against the fall leaves. The florals and decor by Wedding Dream tied it all together.
The morning started with the gown hanging in a bright window, and the bride getting ready surrounded by her bridesmaids. Later, the groom read his vows to her during the ceremony, and you could see how much every word meant to both of them. On the way out, the bride wrapped up in a soft white shawl as their family and friends gathered around to celebrate.
Elm Hurst Inn’s grounds are made for fall portraits. Tall trees, golden leaves, garden paths and a terrace overlooking the property gave us so many beautiful spots in one place, and the warm autumn light made everything glow.
