I love when couples are up for trying something different! When Brittany and Kyle told me they wanted to have a chalk fight as part of their engagement session I was 😮😮😮!
Here are a few of my favourite shots + shoutout to Blackwing Coffee Bar for offering a RAD place to shoot 🙌🙌🙌
PS- Yes, I now speak emoji bc 2019 💁
Brittany and Kyle’s engagement session was the perfect mix of cozy and colourful. We started inside Blackwing Coffee Bar in Cambridge, then headed outside for something I had never done at a session before: a colour chalk fight.
Blackwing has so many great spots to shoot. We started with mugs of coffee by a deep green wall and a stack of firewood, then moved to the brick wall with its big windows, pendant lights and tan leather armchairs. Brittany wore a mustard sweater and Kyle a dark knit, warm fall colours that suited the space perfectly. A booth under a row of framed dog portraits made a fun backdrop too, and her ring got a few close-ups in its little wooden box.
For the second half, they changed into white tees and jeans and we found an old building with green shutters just outside. Handfuls of orange, pink and blue chalk went flying, then a few clouds of grey smoke, and by the end they were covered in colour and laughing so hard. I love how much of their personality shows in these photos.
