Jenny + Ish have such a genuine love relationship that photographing them was one of the easiest things! They naturally held each other, giggled and kissed between shots. I think I told them they were cute so many times it must have been getting annoying! They just have such a deep and beautiful connection, and I felt honoured to be the one that got to document it!

Murals and a winter sunset in Kitchener
Jenny and Ish’s engagement session took us from downtown Kitchener’s colourful street art to the lake in Victoria Park at sunset. It was a cold late-winter evening, but these two were so wrapped up in each other that nobody noticed.

We started with a few cozy moments at a café table under string lights, then headed out to explore the murals. A bold black-and-white geometric wall, a bright pink and red animal mural, a giant painted fish and a wall of colourful waves made such fun backdrops, and even the painted pavement added a pop of colour. Jenny wore a long black coat over a black and white floral dress with tall boots, and Ish a sharp black suit, a classic look that let the art shine.

As the sun went down, we walked over to Victoria Park. The white footbridge and the railing along the water gave us the perfect frame, and the low winter sun lit up the trees and the lake behind them. Her ring got a close-up on the bridge too.
Tips for a city engagement session
- Look for murals. Downtown Kitchener has colourful walls on almost every block.
- Dress up. A long coat and a sharp suit look timeless against bold street art.
- End at the water. Victoria Park is just a short walk away and glows at sunset.
