Two Engineers, one love. Kate and Robert met while studying at the University of Waterloo and are now planning on tying the knot next September. Here are some highlights from their engagement session at Smile Tiger Coffee Roasters and the train station right next door! I loved exploring this new urban location near downtown Kitchener!
Kate and Robert’s session started inside Smile Tiger Coffee Roasters, a bright, airy café with big black-framed windows, gold pendant lights and shelves full of beans. We grabbed a table by the window, two lattes with perfect latte art arrived, and the two of them settled into the green leather couch like they’d been coming here for years. Kate wore a black cardigan with jeans and boots, and Robert a light blue button-up, simple pieces that kept the focus on them.
Outside, the red-brick building and its quiet side alley gave us a completely different feel. We used the black doors, old concrete steps and a graffiti-covered wall for a few relaxed, urban portraits.
Then we walked next door to the train station. The long covered platform, the brick station building and the tracks running into the distance made such a cool backdrop for an engineering couple. They sat on the rails, posed beside a row of black tanker cars, and finished under the station’s brick archway with their arms up in celebration.
